Distinguished service to regional studies award

I am delighted to share the news that I have been honored with the 2023 Distinguished Service to Regional Studies Award. This recognition was given to me during the Regional Studies Association’s (RSA) conference, which took place in the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in mid-June. Receiving this award serves as a great source of inspiration for me.

Throughout the years, I have had the privilege of being part of the RSA and have experienced great international and national cooperation within the organization. The inclusive and globally recognized nature of the RSA has played a significant role in my professional journey. I am grateful for the many collaborations and opportunities that have shaped my work in the field of regional studies.

My involvement with the RSA spans many years and has involved various initiatives. I had the honor of serving as the Regional Studies Ambassador to Norway from 2020 to 2023, a role that I am stepping down from this month. This position also granted me the privilege of serving on the steering group for NoRSA, the Nordic branch of the organization. I congratulate Maria Tsouri for being elected as the new RSA ambassador to Norway. You can read more about her and the role here.
